Outreach

WE BELIEVE:

· As children, we benefit from serving our community.

· It is better to be great human beings first, and great actors second.

· That children of any age can learn Shakespeare in a way that is exciting and joyful

· In community, in service, in mutual respect.

· In ourselves.

As a community, we recently visited the St. James Church and served dinner to the people who seemed very hungry. They were lined up outside the doors. We put gloves on and got behind the food tables. When we served them, they smiled at us. Some of them had missing teeth, but they looked happy when we gave them sandwiches.

When we did our show last year at the Brookledge Theater, we raised two thousand dollars for the homeless and the hungry. Doug Ferraro of Hope Net came and thanked us. We felt great about this. These hungry people are our neighbors and we don’t want to ever forget them!

Tree ceremony

In 2005, when we first got together as a community, we gathered on a street in Brookside neighborhood for a tree planting ceremony. We performed a poem about a tree and the benefits were that many trees were planted along the street. Our city councilman was there and he had us dig the first hole for the tree. The trees were dedicated to 11 families of September 11.

This year, following our December performances, our Queen’s Players will be available to perform for school groups, charitable organizations, special events, etc. For more information, please email us at outreach@losangelesdramaclub.com or call or call 323-319-3597.
